Account settings

Account settings let you manage your profile and how you sign in. You can change your profile photo, see your name and email, manage authentication (password or SSO), and choose which notifications you receive.

Click your avatar or account in the top menu. The account settings window opens with a list of options. Use the back arrow to return to the list from any sub-screen.

Open Profile image to change the photo that appears next to your account in the menu.

  • Upload new photo – Choose an image from your device. It is saved automatically; there is no separate “Save” step.
  • Clear – Remove your profile photo. The change is saved immediately.

Your name and email are shown on the main account screen. They are read-only here; changes are managed through your organization or identity provider if you use SSO.

Open Authentication to see how you sign in (e.g. password, SSO) and to change your password if your account uses one.

  • Set password / Change password – Request a password reset or change your password. You will receive an email with a link to complete the step.

Open Notifications to control which emails you receive (e.g. course announcements, quiz confirmations). Options may vary by organization.

This option is planned for a future release. When available, it will let you adjust the interface for better accessibility.

Run a check of your network, device, and browser to make sure everything works correctly with Sylva. This is useful if you run into technical problems (for example with video, uploads, or loading). Click Run test to open the check; the result shows whether your setup is compatible.

At the bottom of the main account screen you see the SylVA version (for example “SYLVA 5.01.5”) and, when available, the release date. This helps support identify which version you are using. The version line is only shown on the main account screen, not when you are inside Profile image, Authentication, or Notifications.
